I have performed plenty of searches in the past about this Xbox 360 problem.  One so called fix that is still showing up quite often is the “towel fix”, where you wrap the Xbox in a towel.  All this does is overheat the console to the point that it may start working again.  You NEVER want to do this as other people may suggest.  This will DESTROY the Xbox permanently.

NEVER use the “towel method” when trying to fix your Xbox 360.  Get one of the amazingly cheap guides here instead.

Yes, it has happened to me. I created this site with the intension to truly help someone who was in my situation.

There is a way to fix your Xbox 360 by yourself.

I was playing my new game, Rock Band, with my girlfriend and my sister. That’s a great game, by the way. I was playing guitar (on expert, finally!), my girl was singing, and my sister was playing the drums. We were in the middle of performing “…And Justice For All” by Metallica, when all of a sudden, the screen started doing this crazy, intermittent, one second freeze. This happened a few times, and WHAM! The screen went black, and my Xbox had the 3 red lights.

Now, I have heard of the problem before, as it has been very well documented, so from what I remembered, I powered the Xbox down for about 10 minutes. When I turned it back on, everything seemed fine – or so I thought. After about 30 minutes of playing again, the same thing happened.

“This is ridiculous”, I said to myself. I ran straight to the computer and did a Google search, and I found a whole bunch of sites. Most of the were the “fix it yourself” kind of websites. I didn’t want to take the chance of sending my Xbox to Microsoft and wait up to three months. I wanted it fixed NOW.

One of the sites I came across looked good to me. It was GUARANTEED or my money back. Yes, Guaranteed was spelled in all caps. Here is the site, in case you have come across it yourself:

So, after about 10 minutes of looking at the site, I said the hell with it and ordered it. It wasn’t expensive, and it said it comes with ” easy to follow videos, so I figured if it didn’t work out I would just get my money refunded.

I went ahead and put in my CC info and my email address. Within 5 minutes I was emailed a link that contained all the info I needed. I took the time to read through the entire repair manual, and I got my tools ready.

It turns out this was one of THE most helpful guides I have ever come across. Using the guide, I really was able to fix it myself. It took a little longer than an hour, but after I fixed my system, it a game hasn’t frozen once, and I haven’t got the ring of death at all.

So, if you are in need of fixing your Xbox, or someone elses, I can tell you this definitely IS NOT a scam. Don’t bother sending it to Microsoft. Click Here and have your own guide in 5 minutes! After all, if it doesn’t work for you, it is GUARANTEED.

Forget Microsoft.  Break free of the Microsoft chain and fix your Xbox 360 yourself

The Xbox 360 is a great console system.  However, there have been many complaints since its release in 2005 to do with hardware errors. The 3 red lights Xbox 360 problem is what most people receive when something goes wrong with their console; this means there is a hardware error, which could indicate a number of different problems. This Xbox 360 repair guide will show you the most common problems and a few possible fixes.  Forget Microsoft and do it yourself.

Overheating
The Xbox 360 overheating problem is one of the most common issues; it can be fixed most of the time by simply putting the console in a more open environment. Many people put the console in an enclosed area to save space but unfortunately the overheating issue means it needs more ventilation. There is a so called “towel fix”.  Do not EVER try the “towel fix”.  You see, the overheating issue has been widely documented as being caused by a poor solder connection at the CPU.  The towel fix alledgedly works by overheating the unit so much that it melts the solder back into place.  While this may work for a day or so, it will ultimately completely destroy your Xbox.

Cabling problems
Sometimes it is simply that the cable in the back of console is not properly connected; make sure it is firmly plugged in. However it can also mean that the console is just not getting enough power which is much harder to spot and fix.

Hardware failure
This is the scary one, when your console has Xbox 360 hardware problems you can unplug and restart the console and try again and sometimes this fixes the issue but often you will experience the same error immediately or after playing for a time then it will happen again. This can lead to a trip to the Xbox repair centre which is expensive and time consuming.

It is unfortunate that the 3 red lights give so little detail into your Xbox problems and Microsoft have admitted there are some serious flaws in their product but hopefully this Xbox 360 repair guide is enough of a tutorial to solve any easy issues quickly.

With more and more people submitting their consoles to be fixed the Xbox 360 repair centers are becoming overloaded and wait times are increasing to months! Not to mention the hundreds of dollars you pay to fix Microsoft’s faults!
Thankfully you CAN fix most of these problems yourself!
