My Xbox 360 is starting to act up again . I’ve heard of these so called repair guides, but I’m not sure which one is the best fit. Can anyone help?

I have heard that many xbox 360′s have had the red rings of death and that they either overheat or their disc driver is no good. The reason I am asking this is because I am thinking of getting a 360 for around 0 (at a bestbuy outlet bidding site) but am starting to think I should just wait for the ps3 because the 360 seems like poor workmanship.

My Xbox keeps pretty weird noise, or what do you think? I noticed no scratches on the disc, though.
