Overheating is undoubtedly among the most significant issues with the XBox 360 as well as the primary reason for what is known as the red ring of death. Get this and unfortunately your gaming system is not going to operate regardless of what you intend to do with it.

The actual problem is with the main processor unit within the device. An excessive amount of heating melts the actual solder which attaches the inner parts together. This is really a common problem with the XBox 360 and several consumers experience this.

Unplug the device and also place it anywhere with very good air circulation so that it may cool off for twenty-four hours. If this does not work, you will have to consider other available choices.

The very first thing to do would be to check if your unit remains in warranty and if so, it is advisable to send it back to Microsoft to have it fixed by them. This will be free of cost. If it is not protected with the manufacturers warranty there are many options on the market. Sending it to Microsoft for a paid fix is a very costly procedure, therefore you might look at what else you can do first.

Microsoft might ask for around a hundred and fifty dollars should your device get the RROD, so it a good idea to be ready with a contingency plan with regard to correcting it by yourself just in case it takes place. Again, this issue affect many Xbox 360 owners.

There are a few very nice and nicely illustrated repair guides readily available for this particular system. However, don’t let yourself be enticed to get a free one and do the job from that. Those could potentially cause significant complications particularly in case you are unclear about exactly what you’ll be doing.

The most effective plan is to seacrh on the web or visit a discussion board where you will find Xbox 360 end users and discover what technique they are working with to correct their own gaming systems. There will almost certainly be customers who have repaired the issue on their own since it is so widespread.

As soon as you possess the suitable technique along with guidelines follow it very carefully step by step, safe in the understanding that other people have used this to repair the same trouble with their very own system.

What is the best xbox 360 repair guide?

My Xbox 360 is starting to act up again :( . I’ve heard of these so called repair guides, but I’m not sure which one is the best fit. Can anyone help?

Does the xbox 360 have a ton of problems?

I have heard that many xbox 360′s have had the red rings of death and that they either overheat or their disc driver is no good. And if this is outside of the 90 day warranty, you have to pay 0 to get it fixed. This seems to be a very common problem with the 360′s. The reason I am asking this is because I am thinking of getting a 360 for around 0 (at a bestbuy outlet bidding site) but am starting to think I should just wait for the ps3 because the 360 seems like poor workmanship.

How to Fix the Xbox 360 Unplayable Disc Problem

How long is the usual XBOX 360 repair time?

My console is already in Texas (near the repair center as of now) and I’m sure I’m going to enter the actual repairing process.

How long does that usually take? 2-3 days? I already know about the times surrounding the shipping of my console, just not the actual fixing going on.

I have the E74, by the way.

Potential xbox 360 problems?

So my parents finally allowed me to get an xbox 360 and i’ve been reading up about it on the internet so i’ll be prepared as to which version to buy and such when go to buy it. Trouble is, i’ve been reading that the xbox 360 has had many different problems because of overheating and scratched discs etc. Now i’m a bit scared of buying one cuz i dont want to have to invest more money than the actual cost of the system and games in order to repair the system itself. so my questions are:

Do all the xbox 360 systems out there (all versions) still have the same amount of problems as before or has microsoft made sure that the systems are atleast a bit more resistant to encountering such problems like overheating?

Is the xbox 360 elite any better than the core or pro system when it comes to durability and resistance to heat?

Should i buy a cooling fan for my xbox 360 regardless of where i plan to put it?

any input would be much appreciated

Xbox 360 DVD Drive Problem

My Xbox keeps pretty weird noise, or what do you think? :) I noticed no scratches on the disc, though. Please don’t send me those repair suggestions anymore, cause my xbox has been fixed by MS and is working just fine, touch wood ;) I also have no idea how to fix this problem without sending the console to microsoft, so please don’t ask me what caused the problem. I just have never seen an xbox keeping this kind of noise so I thought it’d be cool to share this vid.

A friend of mine told me that DVDs ruin the drive over time. is this true? i’ve never heard of this before.
