Overheating is undoubtedly among the most significant issues with the XBox 360 as well as the primary reason for what is known as the red ring of death. Get this and unfortunately your gaming system is not going to operate regardless of what you intend to do with it.

The actual problem is with the main processor unit within the device. An excessive amount of heating melts the actual solder which attaches the inner parts together. This is really a common problem with the XBox 360 and several consumers experience this.

Unplug the device and also place it anywhere with very good air circulation so that it may cool off for twenty-four hours. If this does not work, you will have to consider other available choices.

The very first thing to do would be to check if your unit remains in warranty and if so, it is advisable to send it back to Microsoft to have it fixed by them. This will be free of cost. If it is not protected with the manufacturers warranty there are many options on the market. Sending it to Microsoft for a paid fix is a very costly procedure, therefore you might look at what else you can do first.

Microsoft might ask for around a hundred and fifty dollars should your device get the RROD, so it a good idea to be ready with a contingency plan with regard to correcting it by yourself just in case it takes place. Again, this issue affect many Xbox 360 owners.

There are a few very nice and nicely illustrated repair guides readily available for this particular system. However, don’t let yourself be enticed to get a free one and do the job from that. Those could potentially cause significant complications particularly in case you are unclear about exactly what you’ll be doing.

The most effective plan is to seacrh on the web or visit a discussion board where you will find Xbox 360 end users and discover what technique they are working with to correct their own gaming systems. There will almost certainly be customers who have repaired the issue on their own since it is so widespread.

As soon as you possess the suitable technique along with guidelines follow it very carefully step by step, safe in the understanding that other people have used this to repair the same trouble with their very own system.

On 6/20 at around 10:00pm my brand new Xbox 360 Slim shut off while watching netflix. After looking into the problem the 360 was dead and wouldn’t power on. I found the new power brick to have a red light. UPDATE: 6/21 After speaking with Microsoft they opened an order for me to send it to them. Concluding that it had to be the Console itself, because we had tried 2 different power supplies and both Red Lighted. But the same 2 power supplies would work on my friends new 360 model S. They could not expedite the process and would take 2 to 3 weeks. As well they would not compensate me for any frustration which I’m ok with now but because of the bad PR I would’ve thought they be willing to make a loyal customer happy. I did inform them that I would be documenting the hardware failure on youtube and anywhere I could get it published. That didn’t help to make them move things along any faster. She advised me to check with my local retailer Game Stop where I purchased it from and see if they could do a system Swap. I advised I would check but since I had searched for 2 systems over the weekend in a 30 mile radius most places were out of stock and had told me that they didn’t know when they would be getting anymore back in and the only thing I could do was check day to day. On Monday morning my local game stop manager spoke with their district manager after I informed her of what had gone on. The DM found a store who had just gotten a new one in stock. They held it for me until …
