I am going on my fourth XBOX 360. I have had nothing but problems with mine. Friends of mine have also had to return theirs mulitple times. How many times have you had to return yours to XBOX or to the store of purchase? Feel free to tell the problems you have had.

  1. My fiance bought his XBOX in February or March and about two weeks ago it just broke on us. It had always had problems freezing, but that was after playing it for about an hour or so. Well, it started only letting us even have the thing turned on for about 5 minutes and then it’d freeze up, even if we were still just looking at a menu. We got the box and shipped it to them, they’ve still got it.

When he took the box into UPS, before he even got up to the counter the girl behind it said, "Oh, your XBOX died too." They’d had so many in that she knew what was inside the box just by looking at it. It’s crazy.

So, they told him he gets a month of XBOX Live free, and they’ll "fix" his XBOX, but after reading all of these posts I’m guessing they’ll just send him a new one.

We should have gotten a Wii instead.

  2. My brothers xbox 360 just stop playing games for some reason
the cd drive stopped working so he sent it back to microsoft or whatever on the warranty so just once.

  3. 5 for me
    ring of death mainly

  4. twice for me, i hate it, it takes so long to get your xbox back they were in such a rush to beat playstation and they decided to screw us…..thanks microshaft

  5. Well we have all the systems360, elite wii, ps3 etc… for testing and the xbox 360 has been replaced three times so far. Hardware issues of course.

  6. I personally haven’t had any problems with mine (yet…knock on wood). I try to keep it cool while I play it for long periods of time and it keeps it from overheating. I have had numerous friends who have had to send theirs back because it has overheated. They sell fans that you can attach to the console that will help to keep it from overheating. If you do play it a lot play it for about 3-4 hours then turn it off for about 30 minutes and let it cool off.

  7. Mine locks up on me sometimes when I play games.
And once it is frozen, believe me, it is frozen. Takes no input from the controller. I need to get up and physically shut the power off.

Reminds me of other microsoft products.

  8. So far I’ve had problems with teh tray not coming out to eject a disc…. then I got the flashing red lights and it was kaput… So I sat on hold with XBOX for an hour the guy had me reformatt it and told me it should be fixed… yeah right ten minutes later Im on Hold AGAIN… for an hour and a half… just for them to tell me that I will recieve an empty box in 5-10 days then it will be another 4-6 weeks to get my box back…
THEN instead of fixing mine they sent me a new console… and a month of XBOX live which was nice since the day before mine died I had paid for a month of Live… Im just waiting for the new one to die too… woot xbox… Think I’ll go play my Wii

  9. I got my 360 from the mt. dew / Pepsi promotion that happened before the launch is where i got mine. I have had no problems except when i bought the HD-DVD player it got too warm sitting on top of the 360.

  10. I’m on my second.
I had the first one for about 8 months, but it had problems looooong before I sent it in. It would never start up on the first try – I would get the normal ring of lights and it would recognize the controller, but no video or audio. It always started up fine on the second try though, and we could play it for as long as we liked with no problems at all, but if it was off for more than an hour it would do it again. I think it had a faulty capacitor.
My second has been fine so far, and ms insisted it was the hard drive so they sent a brand new one with my refurb and didn’t want me to send the old one (which works fine.)
So, now I have a good 360 (knock on wood) and an extra hard drive – Bonus!
    Sometimes MS isn’t so bad.

  11. The disc reader on mine stopped working today. It says "Unreadable Disc" for all my games and DVDs. So I called and they said they would repair it, but it will take them 4 weeks … I’ve only had the XBOX 360 for three weeks!

I had my regular XBOX for three years without a single problem and I have the 360 for three weeks, and it’s already broken. Crazy.

  12. Im on my second and it took me 5 weeks to get this one back if it breaks again(Knock on wood) i will be so pissed
