i turn’d the screw left first but it made a grindin noise so i slightly turn’d it to the right and it runs smooth

You know what, I saw all of these various videos but for my situation this one was the most helpful. I did what you said and it was fine for two days but just now I tried to play and it wasn’t reading again.
I really don’t want to have to go back in my 360 every two days to keep it running. I am still looking for a longer lasting fix. Maybe I didn’t turn the screw enough? I am not sure. Thanks for the info though.

few things, can you over turn the screw? I used needle nose pliers cause there was no way a screw driver was gonna turn that screw, and note that to take a part a xbox360 or at least mine you need a collection of strange star-shaped srewdrivers, luckily I had a interchangable head set with everything from the alphabet to pasta noodles for shapes, but it didn’t seem to do the trick for me, so maybe I turned it not enough or too much? any thoughts?
when you turn the screw it ether puts more power to the laser or moves the lens slightly
Did this and every other fix on youtube, none have worked for me, if any of u have seen a different or better way to fix this let me know. I’ve already seen the Hit it on the top vids, and the open + slam shut vids, and the fix the bolt vids + and shit, let me know if any of u got a better Idea, and don’t say get a PS3 cause Halo Reach isn’t gonna be on a damn PS3

Fantastic! I followed this guy and my DVD drive went from having trouble with some disks some of the time to not reading any disks at all. It’s great that I went from a 80% working drive to a 0% working drive! Great guide!

yeah it voids the warranty but the damn thing is useless i dont wanna pay 100 bucks to send my shit back when i can fix it myself probally better than microsoft would i sent one back 3 years ago and it came back broken i had to send it back AGAIN! ugh! so i urge xboxers to mod there xbox with water cooling kits thermometers better cases n better fans hell better heat sinks
@helllo1429 you might have the older or newer drive i have a newer xbox the newer drive has the same 4 screws but they are longer and smaller diam. screws if u put the old drive with the new box it dont work atleast mine didnt but i bought the whole xbox off craigslist for 40 bucks
