open disc tray prob? Tweak the pots!! usually around 604 ohms. dvd wobbly. ya dont even need the case on. fix the coils in the spinner. the grease and dust are built up and the tray rods are not alignede.

my 360 the laser wont read the disc and yeah… i got a hitachi drive to so i unno..could it be the green chipboard part that makes the disc spin and the laser work?
my disc drive does that sometimes but sometimes the disc doesnt even spin. is that a symptom of the same problem?
my disc spins off because my lazzer hits the disc off the tray and it makes a realy horrible load sound so i could try this

THIS IS NOT THE FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM YOUR MAGNET ON THE TOP OF THE DRIVE HAS COME LOSSE GLUE IT BACK IN AND YOUR PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED
I had this very same problem – just like the guy said – it sounds like sawing through a piece of wood.
There is a donut-shaped magnet that should be glued inside a channel in the part that actually spins the DVD.
If you look at the part at 0:09, you see a free-spinning disc – the magnet actually pulls that down to hold the DVD while it spins. If the magnet comes unglued, the hold doesn’t work right. Found my magnet stuck to that disc.
Glued it back down & now my xbox 360 runs fine.

I need help.. On some DVDs, my xbox plays fine for a min, and then the quality goes very bad for about 10 seconds, and then gets back good for 10 seconds… It does this over and over, and I have no Idea why, does anyone know how to fix this?

so thats a good and funny fix.. but i was wonderin if u can look into something that i’ve been having problems with, i have an elite that a friend asked me to fix and i swaped out its disk drive 3xs and 2x the caples and still wont read games only dvds?.. i dont understand whats up with that but if u can give me a direction to if i need to mod something i would like to know thanks.
