What Causes Xbox 360′s Red Ring of Death? Before finding a solution to any problem we have to found a cause. Basically, red ring of death or RRoD is a sign of “general hardware failure”, It is indicated by 3 red lights or 3 red rings near the power button. It occurs, when GPU (graphics processing unit) becomes loose. GPU is fitted on motherboard, when ever the motherboard heats up GPU become loose and green lights turn into 3 flashing red lights. The vibration of system usually loosens the soldering of the GPU freezes up your Xbox 360. How to prevent the RROD? do not play on long periods of time, this is a machine, just like a body. you in a way is a machine. when you are over worked you try to “cool down” and take a brake. The xbox 360 does the same. the heat it gives of after a very long period of time is it’s way of saying “Can I take a brake and cool myself down”, but if you don’t let it, then it’ll die out on you and red ring it self. SO GIVE THE MACHINE A BRAKE NOW AND AGAIN!!!! what causes the xbox to red ring in the first place.? Electronics industry newspaper EE Times said that the it started in the GPU. A German computer magazine blamed the problem on the wrong type of lead-free solder, a type that when exposed to elevated temperatures for extended periods of time becomes brittle and can develop hair-line cracks that are almost irreparable. 4 are flashing red – due to the AV cable cannot be detected. Make sure that the AV cable is correctly connected to the Xbox

please just leave a comment on how I can fix it or make it work again or what to do is basically, what I’m trying to say here, i guess EDIT: I fixed it, (thank jesus), by using a different cord. So if you have a friend… 1) plug in your friends cord 2)put in your shitty battery pack 3)plug your friends cord in 4) when it turns green unplug the cord and replug it it. 5) repeat until it stays red then play until its charged fully. FIX #2: !) Take your cord and plug it into your controller with a battery pack 2) Unplug and replug it until it stays charging 3) Play Modern Warfare 2 or Halo 3 :D WATCH IN HD FOR BEST QUALITY!

In this video I show how to clean and repair a DVD drive from an XBOX 360 gaming console.

Hi, basically i have tried multiple games and multiple resolution settings and this is always the end result. It varies how long i get before this happens but always does. Is the console faulty?

When ever a disc is spinning in the console it makes this very annoying noise! if i bump the console lightly (Not to hard or that would wreck the game) the noise stops temporary but later on starts doing it again.
