We keep getting an "unplayable disc" message for ALL games…scratched and not scratched. No movies, games, or cds will play! It takes us right to the dashboard. Tried the "A" trick, and clearing the cache (y x x lb rb xx) nothings worked…any suggestions? or is our xbox f***ed?

This the Xbox 360 really as bad as people say it is? I have a PS3, but I wanna get a 360 cause it has a lot of good games that never release in other consoles like Gears of war, Left 4 Dead or Halo. But after reading a lot of stuff about it, I hear it pretty defective. So my 3 questions are…
1. What is the reason of the "red rings" happend? is it cause if the memory? to much dowloads? overheating? or what?
2. When you got the 360, have you ever had the red rings? on what day did you get the rings?
3. And tips on keeping the 360 from that preventing?
got this xbox a few months ago and things are lookin good until the other day the fan suddenly went beserk and the system shut off with those 2 red rings flashing. at first it wouldn’t even turn on, but now it does and i can play for like 2-5 mins then it shuts off off again. i’ve tried cleaning it, blowing the air out and even vacuming the dust out. any suggestions for a diy or how-to would be greatly appeciated and plz rate comment video. need advice on how to blog/make videos better
i wanted to know before i did mine cuase my 360 has a poblem with the games. it reads the disc and then says open tray and i really need my new xbox 360 before gears of war 2 comes out
