On 6/20 at around 10:00pm my brand new Xbox 360 Slim shut off while watching netflix. After looking into the problem the 360 was dead and wouldn’t power on. I found the new power brick to have a red light. UPDATE: 6/21 After speaking with Microsoft they opened an order for me to send it to them. Concluding that it had to be the Console itself, because we had tried 2 different power supplies and both Red Lighted. But the same 2 power supplies would work on my friends new 360 model S. They could not expedite the process and would take 2 to 3 weeks. As well they would not compensate me for any frustration which I’m ok with now but because of the bad PR I would’ve thought they be willing to make a loyal customer happy. I did inform them that I would be documenting the hardware failure on youtube and anywhere I could get it published. That didn’t help to make them move things along any faster. She advised me to check with my local retailer Game Stop where I purchased it from and see if they could do a system Swap. I advised I would check but since I had searched for 2 systems over the weekend in a 30 mile radius most places were out of stock and had told me that they didn’t know when they would be getting anymore back in and the only thing I could do was check day to day. Apparently even with the new Xbox 360 “slim” , disc scratch errors are still present. I wonder if M$ fixed rrod or E-74, and many other hardware failures associated with the Xbox 360? Remember disc scratch errors doesn’t occurs on Wii, PS3,laptops,dvd/blu-ray players or even 10 years old portable cd players. Okay yeah so after about one day of playing, my new xbox finally got the red ring or red dot as I should say (lol like PS3 ). I was noticing some problems right when i first started playing like when i was playing A vs P, my game was saying it was unreadable and freezing a lot, but the game did not have that many scratches on it. Then today when I tried to play MW2 it didnt want to read the game and then i restarted it and it wouldnt go to the dashboard, and after about 15 long seconds…The red ring was born again on the new Xbox 360 slim. haha EDIT: Yes the second half of the video is a recovery but about an hour later after finishing another Crossine Video, it died again and this time it wasnt coming back. D: But i have an awesome friend at game stop and he got me a replacement and will be picking it up today. If he had a youtube I would link him! haha
I turn on my xbox and the screen turns white but it still loads everything the color is just not comein up and it freezes when it loggs me in. i tried pulling wires a few times and it goes back to its normal state after a few restars but just watch videoa nd leave a comment =============================================================================== NOT SOLVED
Well, turns out that one of my main cpu boards was really messed up, like almost melted, so I guess that was the problem. Paid some guy to fix it for me since I don’t have warranty anymore.
As soon as i press the power button, the led on the power supply goes green and immediately red/orange and everything stops and it’ll give me 3 red rings. Please help me out! I did the x-clamp fix by the way.
