360 never plays for more than a few minutes before freezing, sometimes gets 3 rings, sometimes doesn’t even load the opening logo. One time I got it to the menu and i kept it there for a several minutes before trying to load a game. It was my friend’s who had it since 2006, was playing Infinite Discovery earlier this year when it froze maybe 10 minutes into the game and now does it on every game he tries. He got a new one and told me I could have it if I could find a way to fix it. I understand that Microsoft will fix for free with red rings if it is under warranty (which I do not know if it is, no receipt) and will charge 100 if it is not (which i don’t mind paying for a whole xbox) My only concern is I want to be guaranteed they fix it and don’t just charge 100 for diagnostics and say well we cant fix it screw you. Also, if they fix it, do they extend the warranty? Example: My wii disc drive was making a grinding noise, i sent to Nintendo who fixed for out of warranty but then gave me a 1 year warranty on it after the fix. Does Microsoft do anything similar, does anyone know if there is a way to fix it without them. BTW power brick glows green, it never indicates orange or red problems. And if I do have to pay for it, will i get a warranty on the fix that it will not continue to mess up and I be out 0 for nothing? Please help, thank you!

My boyfriend and I recently purchased an Xbox 360 (it’s only about a week old) and we’ve been having trouble with the wireless controller that came with it. The connection and whatnot are fine, but a lot of the time down on the D pad can be unresponsive and the up on the left control stick will sometimes stick and cycle through menus when we aren’t even touching the controller.

We got the console from Gamestop, and they give an automatic warranty for one year for the console in which they’ll replace the system with a new one if it fails. We were wondering if this applies to the controller that came with it as well, or if we’d have to contact Microsoft about the problems with the controller. It’s too late here to contact Gamestop, and we wanted to check here before we went through the trouble with arguing with them.

Any help on the matter would be appreciated.

i think my xbox has a problem…..when i put in a disc.on the dashboard(or NXE)it tells me its reading disc and after a while.it says open disc tray like if there wasnt anything in it….then it sometimes says Play DVD instead of saying the game….its random do….would this be enought to send for a free repair…..my warranty expires in new years…does it extend my warranty if send it in for repair?..its not really a problem because is random but its kind of annoying .i dont really need to repair it because is not really a big problem but maybe it will worsen to the point where its unplayable and my warranty will be over by then..so idk..and maybe il get a jasper Xbox 360..should i do it??

tanxs
and i never moved my xbox 360 when a disc was inserted like that guy stated below.

So my Xbox 360 has the ring of death. The power supply light is green when on. I am under warranty. I call Xbox Support, and find that it has changed since I used it six months ago. Now, instead of getting an actual person to help me, I get a computer saying to go online and submit my order there. I go there, and find that I have to get a Windows Live account. I’m reluctant, but do it anyways. Then I have to make an Xbox Live account. Then I have to register my console. But when I do, it says that it is already registered under a different account or name/address. So I can’t submit my console repair request online. Dos anyone know what to do? I’ve seen and heard of a ring of death repair that you can download (I know there’s a few). Are they any good? Please help!

This question is about my xbox shipped in repair. My status now is that its eing shipped back to me, but my question is that did they give me a new console, or did they repair my old one. To help, my standard warranty was renewed so does that means that its a new xbox. all and all im asking is that are there any hints that tell me whether they gave me another xbox or not.

P.S I sent in a xbox 360 pro

Also I have another question, when do u think my xbox will come back. Its been 8 days now. how much longer will it take to come back.
