I was just wondering does any one know how to turn off automatic logging in. Like xbox live accounts when i turn my 360 on an account automatically turns on?

i recently bought an xbox 360 and a game. I first signed into xbox live and then played the game. i then saved my progress and turned off my xbox. The next they i found out i could not access my saved game unless i was singed into xbox live. Does anyone know why this is.
even if i am signed-in into my profile, i can only access my saved game if i am also logged/connected on to xbox live.
