The three rings of death have introduced themselves to my XBOX 360. Now if I send it in for repair, what will happen to my game data that was saved on the hard-drive?
Specifically my near completion of Dead Rising!
So the three red rings of death never have anything to do with a problem on the hard-drive?

  1. I am sending my second Xbox 360 back to Microsoft in the last 2 years. For some reason after about a year I get the ring of death as well. When you call them to get a box shipped to you to send the xbox 360 to them they will send you directions for packing. The first direction listed is for you to make sure you remove the hard drive and any CD or DVD that may be inside. They are not telling me when I ask what this ring of death is caused from. They did inform me however they have extended warranties for this particular problem. Last time they sent me a new console. Just make sure you take the hard drive off and you will still have all your saved progress. Good luck and happy gaming when you get it all fixed.

  2. just take the hard drive off before you send it
as long as there is no problem with the hard-drive then they won’t need it

  3. No since you’re not supposed to send in your hard drive, and the hard drive is where all your data are stored.

  4. Remove your hard drive from your xbox before you send it in and you will be fine =)
    happy to help

  5. Take the hard drive off and your xbox is ready to go
