if i send it in saying it has 3 red rings, will they repair it under warranty?

If they check it they will send it back to you unfixed. But, they might just replace it.

The red ring SUCKS! You spent 250$+ on your xbox! You deserve more for the money you spent, I ran into this same problem last month. I turned to the internet just like you did and found this STEP BY STEP guide to fix this problem and any other problem that could occur. It even taught me how to do extra things to my xbox like download and mod games. I just wanted to fix my xbox and it worked.
