CHECK MY UPDATE FOR HOW THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED ———- got this when i turned on my 360 a min ago (second 360 [first got rrod]) green light is fine though but as you can see theres deffinately something wrong and i have checked all the wires are connected properly UPDATE: Having played with it some more. unplugging, re-plugging cables etc it still didn’t work but i kept at it and eventually it started working again. So i guess the cables may be getting a bit old. particulary check the hdtv/sd switch on the part of the cable that goes in your 360. So if anyone else has this problem just keep checking your cables, perhaps borrow a mates or something but it seems this isn’t a major problem. Hope this helps
It reminds me of my old portable tv. I believe something is rong with the frequency.
I had this exact same problem, turns out it can sometimes be fixed (possibly temporarily) by swapping the ends of the HDMI cable around.
Not sure what the answer would be with a component cable, however.
Added an update (some time ago actually) but i think people have missed it. I did resolve the problem. It must have been a dodgy connection even though i kept checking and rechecking, eventually it just decided to work again though. Best tip is to just keep checking the cables, borrow a mates to check as well since it may be that you need a new one. hope this helps anyone else who encounters this problem

I don’t have a Xbox but have PS3 and some systems also get this problem from time to time.
I’ll try getting a better cable, although this will be my 3rd one !

well my xbox is stuffed man like i turn it on but it doesn’t show up on the screen and everything is connected and all but it still doesn’t work

somethings wrongg with my xbox after about 15 minutes of playing the bottom half of the screen go dark so that i cant see and i dont think its the tv cause i set back its settings and replugged it NEED HELPPP

People plz dont waste your money on new cables if u look at the power cable which looks like a big black brick when u turn your xbox 360 on if the light on the power cable goes green it means that your xbox needs repairing. i have the same problem but my screen is only plaayin audio at the minute. But no worries im getting Xbox Elite for christmas =)

umm?? excuse me but my light on my power brick is always green when i turn my xbox on and when it isnt on the light shows orange.. so i dont think that means it needs to be repaired or something its just normal….
i was playing it earlier the game freezes and various lines appear across the screen, and this happens 5 minutes in to the game, and one of the times i tried to turn it on i got 3 red lights, then later i tried turning it on and 5 minutes into a game it starts playing up and i currently have it placed horizontal in a well ventilated area, would anyone be able to tell us whats going on with my 360?
