I recently purchased a switch, so i could run my home network more efficiantly.
The set up is: Cable modem right into switch, then PC 1, PC 2, then xbox 360.
Internet works perfectly fine on the two pc’s but the xbox wont connect, and keeps coming up with failed ip tests.
Was wondering if its an xbox 360 problem or if i need a router just for the xbox
The problem is that your devices are all trying to use the same port. This will allow one to work, but as soon as the other is plugged in it gets….confused and only one will work.
Call the people who made your switch or modem they will tell you how to create extra ports
