when i got 3 red lights i was like “oh no, nvm ill just unplug the cords and start over again” after doing that i turned it on and it was still 3 red rings and i got pissed off because i was gonna play with friends online and i sent it in came back after 7 days and voila it was working *1 month later* “MAN YOU GOTTA STOP THIS SHIT* and guess what this time it was caused by Halo 3 fuck it fuck you microsoft we aint paying for your mistakes so you people better fix it so i can get a new one

They don’t fix your consoles, they keep those broken ones and give you a new one.
actually every council has a 3 year warenty against rrod so if you got your xbox less then 3 years ago and have rrod call and its free to replace

i got the red rings of death 2 mounths ago. But i fixed it by leaving my xbox 360 to cool down for 1 day and then i use a fan and put it on the ac adapter and i have no problems it worked for me.

man xboxs are FUCKED up i paid 650$ for mine its fucking ruined. idk if i can bring it back or whatever because the store got bought out and is no longer running.
do not towel trick it its the worst thing to do even if u dont want to void it ul get like 1 hour of gameplay from it and microsoft will know if u send it out after tht because ur whole board will be melted and warped

Ok i’ve found this generally happens in hot weather around this time of year. Basically the metal casing around the motherboard heats up and expands and the foam heatsinks on top of them chips is no longer putting the force thats needed for the ram chip to function? correctly as not all connections are soldered .
The peny trick works is because it adds the pressure needed to make all the pins contact. The reason the towel trick works is because it heats up the ram chips which then expand and makes proper contact when rebooted if anybody thinks im wrong thats? upto them but i think its a fairly sound theory why this fault happens. I’ve found that if you leave it running for 3 mins with the error and put ur hand over the fan works like the towel trick it heats the ram chips up just right.
