Microsoft have already released the Jasper motherboard during late August/early September. Hopefully, the Jasper would be the end of the Red Ring of Death. This most recent update is expected to improve the reliability issues that have plagued the console since its launch. These new consoles have a redesigned motherboard with the new 65-nanometer version of the ATI (now AMD) graphics chip that doesn’t run as hot as previous versions. There are other changes that improve the reliability and usability of the system as well.
Also, the Valhalla chipset’s coming out soon which is even better than the Jasper.

E74 is hardware failure, you need to get it fixed call xbox customer support
mine got it just a week ago tommorow and i had to send mine back and it cost $95 dollars and still havent got it back im bored too if you have live hit me up wait nvm i dont want to put my gamertag up here so just forget i said that but yeah it takes a while and cost money if your warranty is up like mine

take your hard drive off… works for me
you cant save or load though, so buy a new xbox harddrive or a memory unit and your done 
if this fails, send it away, buy a new one or use your box as an expensive paperwight/anchor
