  2. you can use screws but they really dont need to be applying much pressure.. ppl tend to tighten the screws a bit to tight. just barly snug is good.

  5. Mine is sending audio to the TV but no video. Before it happened the colors on screen went haywire, now nothing shows up on the screen at all. The lights in the front work as they normally do; no red rings of any kind.

    What would be the cause/ solution for it? Could it be related to the GPU overheating and turning itself off? Would replacing the thermal compound fix it?

  7. Bit of a late reply, but just to let you know that is RROD. Even if it shows green, but you get sound and no visual that is the beginning of the end my friend. Advice: X-Clamp removal (google it). Even when doing the overheating stage at the end it will possibly show green, but still follow all steps exactly. Good luck.

  13. my xbox is horizontal on a shelf with over 6 in clearance above and around 2 in clearance on the sides. is that a good position to keep it in to reduce rrod chances?

  14. If you open your xbox, you void the warranty so if it’s really broken you can’t get it fixed.
