@megaluisdeth WD40 can be risky, if you use too much. Like anything, moderation is key. If you over due it, it could get on the disc. That’s, probably why some people think it’s a bad idea. When in doubt get a new dvd drive and switch out the circuit boards.
There is no point of buying a new one because the same shit will happen to it! How about if I put car oil? I can get like 70,000 miles!
Please don’t use WD-40, to solve the spindle stiffness. You want to use white silicon lubricant which can be found at any respectful electronics shop(ie, not Radio Shack). The best thing to use would be clear silicon lubricant, but its very hard to obtain.
Had a Sega Megadrive 20+ years, never had a problem with it.
Had a PS1 10+ years, never had a problem with it.
Had an xbox 360 for 1 year now an ive had fecking thousand of problems with it.

i agree with bernsley boy, Sh1t box 360 is a piece of sh1t technology,If u drop ur sh!t box it will fcking mess up ur game, if u play ur xbox to much it will get ring of death,if u do any thing to ur sh1t box it will mess up and i only had it for one fing year

I’ve done this same swap fix to my garbage Samsung ms25 drive to a ms28 switching the card and no dice…
My ms25 drive says Play DVD on ANY game i put, no matter if it’s an xbox 360 or original game. Someone else told me i need to do the Red Rings fix. I’ve removed the xclamps long before i got this problem. please HEEEEEELP!

@bogardboy need to dvd drive key from your old PCB board to be able to play games as the old board has the matched key to your xbox 360 motherboard just swaping the PCB would not work you will need to flash the new PCB with the new code the it will work I have done before took me ages to figure it out I hope this help use jungleflasher works very.
