i have the BENQ drive. Can i just buy a whole new BENQ drive and install it and throw the old drive out?
whats the difference between, open tray error or unplayable disc error?
I dint know…. But I replaced my hitachi drive with a new one and it only works 45% of the time……. ;(

where is the model number? because my hard drive looks lots different then the one your displaying. actually has a raised circular bump part and the sticker with the warning is over the top of the “washer” and that middle part are glued on. so yeah….Are there like different types out there? says this was made of June, 2008.
did you put the old card in the new hardwhere? or just replace the whole thing?
if you did replace the dvd rom and the red lights came up could you get banned from live
yeah mine does this to but you can do the tapping thing on top till it plays or you can send it in to microsoft so they can fix
My xbox would just say READING DISC and then it would say OPEN TRAY in like 10 seconds and I took it to this guy and he replaced the whole Cd drive and it still does the same thing….PLEASE HELP ME SOMBODY!!!

they cant ban you for modifying
The reason you cannot just replace a dvd drive is due to the fact that Every DVD drives PCB has a firmware chip in the firmware there is a DVD Key if it dose not match the XBox’s it will just be a expsensive DVd Player

Are you supposed to put the OLD card into the NEW hardware, REPLACING the NEW card with the OLD card?

you put the card from the original hardrive in to the dive you’ve just bought.

i replaced my drive and the chip went bad on the old one and i dont know what to do. the new drive plays everything except games. please help.

the reason to replace the card in new drive with the old one, Obviously, is so that your xbox doesnt reject it and More importantly,
if your old drive was modded to play backups, then you can just use the old card and save urself a lotta hard work of modding ur new drive.
LOL guys you wont believe this… I just had this disc not spinning problem like half n hr ago I was looking up repair services on craigslist and I just gave my xbox some taps on the top and its working now….. stupid repair for a stupid problem.
my disc says reading but i hear my disc rattleing i dont know what to do. can any1 help?
